If you would like me to work for you then there are a few things that I would like to know to help me along the way, and other things that you need to know, as listed below:
- I need to know the property’s address including the postcode. I can use the postcode to look on-line and assess the property’s orientation etc (I need this to work out the best time of day to take the photos and make sure that the Sun won’t be shining into the camera lens). I can also plug the postcode into my satnav to help me find the property.
- I also like to know the client’s details and phone number. This is my ‘ideal world’ request as it often helps to talk to the client in advance in case they have any concerns etc that they might want to discuss. If you prefer to liaise between us, then that is equally fine for me.
- Any special requirements or requests that you have as to the type of image or images that you want to achieve for your marketing purposes etc.
- Please bear in mind that taking a photo using a mast is a little more involved than simply arriving at a house, stepping out of the car, taking the photo and then disappearing again. For example, the weather is a big consideration. High winds are not ideal, neither is rain; therefore, so [delete ‘so’ please] it is usually wise to allow a reasonably wide window between your instructions to me and the deadline by which you require the completed work.
- I would also like to know whether the photo will need to be taken from the road and if so, whether the road is busy or not. I’ve taken mast photos from busy roads in the past. One of the gallery pictures was a house opposite Hampton Court Palace, however on that occasion it took two attempts because the first time I tried, Mr Blair was hosting a world summit at the Palace with numerous other world leaders and for some reason the Police didn’t very much like the idea of me using my mast on the other side of the wall. I had to return a few days later when the sun shone again.
